USAC Amsoil Sprints @ Junction Motor Speedway 5-3-2014

  After an exciting program Friday night at Eagle Raceway, the USAC guys headed about 60 miles west to take on Junction Motor Speedway at McCool Junction, Nebraska. If you've never visited JMS, you need to make the trip; it is a beautiful facility and owner Delmar Friesen always has it in great shape, usually even running the grader himself. With only two dates on this westward swing, and a competing event back home, the car count was off a little, but almost all the top points drivers in attendance. 
  Following an exciting win, made possible by a classic slide job, the "elder statesman" of the tour, Dave Darland, looked like a strong contender to repeat as he was starting on the pole. Darland didn't pick up the win however, Hunter Schuerenberg came from 3rd to take the win. Brady Bacon, who had moved from 12th to 3rd Friday night, once again made an impressive march through the field to challenge Schuerenberg for the lead in the closing laps. Bacon finished 2nd, taking over the USAC Amsoil National Sprint points lead in the process. Tracy Hines finished 3rd, followed by Darland and Bryan Clauson.
